Stepping Stones Artist in Residence Project was conducted at The Grove and was an initiative of Wyong Shire Council under the Umbrella of The Art Tonic Program
The Grove was an old school that was undergoing a process of activation to transform into a creative workplace environment. Threeartists, Myself, Mandy Francis and Simone Darcy were employed to move into the space and through the process of research, art making, tours and workshops,create art installations. Each installation culminated in artworks insitu around the site creating an arts trail, and they then moved onto,an exhibition at The Entrance Gallery.
My works were a response to the past movement on the site of children running and playing. They were sculptural woven forms in the colours ofthe school uniformthat moved and spun. As you walked around the site you would suddenly see glimpsesof red and blueas the woven formsmoved in the breeze, like mnemonic footprintsof residents past.
